Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad
Now we get to the whole point of the trip! Mom and Dad had made reservations in the dead of winter for this train ride on May 21. "Oh," they said, "the weather will be lovely by then. It won't be raining and nasty even in Washington by then..."
Can we say WRONG!!
We woke up that morning to a cold, misty very gray day - BUMMER. But that sure made us glad that we were staying in the RV nice and cuddly and warm -- let the humans freeze their tushies off! Serves 'em right for not having nice warm fur on their bodies.
Anyway, I digress... Off to the train station they went for a special train ride. This one was unique because it was being pulled by 3 different old steam engines. Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad does all manner of different steam train trips throughout the year. They have a nice location and a pretty area to ride through.

So that about sums up our trip to Washington. We had fun, even
dodging the raindrops! Next time we go north though, I'm gonna
insist that Mom and Dad go in the middle of summer or something!
