Trip to Washington

Northwest Trek

After a mostly rainy week in Olympia, I was hoping that we would move somewhere that the sun was shining.  We all woke up Tuesday morning, May 17 and hooray, the sun was up!  All 4 of us bounced on top of Mom and Dad and pointed out the sunshine!  There were even birdies chirping!!!

So we headed off towards a BIG mountain, by the name of Mt. Rainier.  Now we don't mind traveling, but we do like smooth roads.  The buzz and the hum kind of puts us to sleep.  The last half hour or so before we got to where we were going was a very bumpy road.  We did not like it.  Loki especially did not like it.

Let's just politely say that he left "presents" all over the bedroom to let Mom and Dad know his displeasure.  Mom got the message... good thing that new RV Park had a laundry room!

This new place was on Alder Lake and there were trees and birds and everything!  One of the things on the "Things to Do" list was to go to Northwest Trek.

This is an interesting Wildlife Park, in that it is highly involved with conservation and focuses on wildlife that is native to the Pacific Northwest.  There was a nice tram ride around an open area and then walking trails through very large habitats for animals such as bears, cats, etc.

You would think the least they could have done would have been to brought us home a little something to chase after they spent the day there, but they didn't.  At least they are generous about sharing their chicken!
